A few weeks back Z got to experience his very first NFL football game: Miami Dolphins vs 49ers! I was a little apprehensive about taking him to the game because I knew it would be a crazy long day, but overall he behaved incredibly well and we all had an amazing day.
It is about a 3 hour drive from where we live to the stadium, and thankfully there were no carsick episodes there or back! It doesn’t hurt to have Grandma in the backseat to entertain for the duration either.
We met a few Miami Dolphins cheerleaders and lifted some weights in the gym.
We honestly had so much fun! He wasn’t scared by the loud music or fireworks and we got him excited by letting him and encouraging him to scream really loud. What toddler doesn’t enjoy a good scream fest? For days after he would wake up and immediately ask if he could scream, “like the Miami Dolphin football game.” It was so cute and pretty incredible that I was able to see his memory in action.
There was only a mediocre amount of crankiness during the entire day and it was mostly due to game time falling right around nap time. He chilled out across my mom and brother’s laps for a bit but never fell fully asleep.
Now every time he sees Miami gear he asks about the football game. He gets really excited to throw and catch the football with anyone who will play with him. I’m not quite sure I’m ready to be a football mom yet, but I love that Z has so much fun with it!
Next up is a trip to his first professional basketball game. Can’t wait to plan it! 🙂
